In 1980, Salvador and Gaia Dali introduced country singer Dolly Parton to avant-garde composer Glenn Branca. The two hit it off, and discussed ways they could collaborate.

Glenn suggested Dolly play him a song she was working on. She played the first two measures of the piano intro to the theme song to a movie she was starring in.

"Stop right there," Glenn said. "That is perfect. I know how to build from there."

Months later, Glenn presented her with his treatment, inspired in part by their mutual relationship with the Dalis.

"Well, dang," Dolly said.
