Mac & Mark - Couldn't Get Ahead

Legend has it that sometime back in the early 90s, Mac McCaughan, on the verge of disbanding the up and coming Superchunk, traveled to Europe to play a one off show at a coffee bar with Mark E. Smith. After the show, Smith talked some sense into McCaughan, convincing him he needed to keep the band together. The next day he sent McCaughan back to the USA with a briefcase full of songs that would later become 1995's Here's Where the Strings Come In.
This performance of "Couldn't Get Ahead" is the only known recording, caught by accident by a teenager unaware of how to properly operate his boom box.
